Carlos picked up his first pair of clippers at 16 in Pittsburgh, cutting his high school classmates and quickly building a reputation for clean, precise work. By the time he graduated in 2017, the craft wasn't just a hobby — it was a plan.
When Carlos enrolled at Penn State that fall, he brought his clippers with him. He built a haircut business on campus from scratch, servicing fellow students throughout his four years — funding his entire B.S. in Industrial Engineering one cut at a time. Most people finance college with loans. Carlos used a fade.
After graduating in 2021, he took his systems mindset to Goldman Sachs, working in collateral management. When that chapter ended in 2023, he came back to the craft that never left him — this time as a full-time professional and licensed Barber Educator in Pennsylvania.
Today Carlos operates out of Fitted Cuts in State College, bringing the same precision and analytical thinking from his engineering background to every single cut.
